2008/11 Bought a copy of Computer Music magazine after seeing headline "Make Music Now" - installed EnergyXT2 Core and approx. 20 VSTs - Played around with the software - started building projects

2008/12 By the end of the month I had built about 50 projects

2009/01 Installed EnergyXT2.5 - completed Aviary - upbeat cover of Weather Report's Birdland - took about 28 hours to complete - almost 10 minutes long - about 100 projects in progress by now

2009/02 Installed Independence Free 2.0 - Completed A90sbnb - medium-paced IDM track - took approx. 25 hours - realized that the computer was not really able to support the load I was subjecting it to - upgraded memory from 1Gb to 2 Gb - Completed MesmerFish - unother upbeat IDM track - took about 22 hours - will probably need a remix - the bass is too overpowering and the drums get smothered at the end - upgraded PC power supply from 280W to 450W - now approx. 200 projects in progress - came up with title for first CD (assuming I would finish it) - TottyTown

2009/03 Added 500Gb internal IDE disk - Installed SQ8L and Kore Player 2 - completed Cyril's Escapism - a more traditional rock-style track - this seems to have an early Simple Minds vibe to it - took about 18 hours - started work on Strike a Light - decided that it needed a real guitar instead of using a sampler

2009/04 Bit the bullet and bought a Pod Studio UX2 - completed Strike a Light - a slower rock-style track - took approx 24 hours - my recording debut on guitar

2009/05 Completed Fruit No Object - 70/80s T-Dream style - took approx 25 hours - bought M-Audio Oxygen 49 - this made composing music much easier

2009/06 Upgraded EnergyXT to 2.5.1 - installed EMU Proteus VX - completed NIM - took approx 21 hours - I was trying to produce an Infected Mushroom style track but this turned out to be not even remotely like it - it has hints of 80s Japan and Berlin-era Bowie - completed Gallery - another more traditional rock-style piece - took 20 hours

2009/07 Completed Decade - 80s T-Dream style - took about 20 hours - PPG-ish sounds from SQ8L/GTG 44 S - I had enough tracks completed to fill a CD (TottyTown) - decided on running order - put my least favourite tracks at the beginning and my favourites at the end - started work on second CD - decided to go for a more dance-oriented sound and shorter tracks - the first track was nothing like this - completed TCTronix Loop1 - only 3 hours to complete - similar to 70s Frippertronics but using an organ-like sound with a virtual tape drive - The notes were recorded in one take and then I added the delay

2009/08 Completed Change of Heart - solo Astralis Orgone CM (another Computer Music cover disk synth) - I had some chords I was planning to use for a trance/IDM style track but decided to use them on their own in a slow, atmospheric piece - took about 5 hours - completed Originals In - this was another attempt to try an Infected Mushroom style track which completely missed the mark - took 18 hours - Installed SynthMaster Free - completed Alternative Investments - upbeat IDM with early 80s Japan-style drums - took 17 hours - installed SynthMaster V1

2009/09 Completed Club Sandwich - IDM style - took 18 hours - completed Entity - IDM with more percussion than usual - took 16 hours - installed SynthMaster V2 Beta - decided on title for album (Seconds)

2009/10 Completed Citron - demo for SynthMaster V2 - 10 instances of SynthMaster V2 - laid back upbeat IDM with an almost trance-like feel - took 10 hours - Installed Native Instruments Pro-53 (sadly now obsolete) - completed Felonious Monk - took 15 hours - ElectroProg with a Chinese feel - completed Rise and Fall - early 80s T-Dream style - took 15 hours

2009/11 A very busy month - Completed Conflicting Prophecies - heavier IDM/ElectroProg - took 14 hours - sorted out running order for CD using the same ordering as the first CD, but placing the quiet tracks at the beginning and end of the album - I decided to continue with the same musical style for the third CD - completed Entrance - more IDM/ElectroProg - took 13 hours - installed EnergyXT2.5.2 - installed Waldorf PPG Wave 2.V - completed Cascade - electroProg/IDM again - took 12 hours - downloaded Tabla kit for SR-202 (Computer Music yet again) - completed Indian Summer - ElectroProg with trance sounds - took 13 hours - completed Buy Cheese - 10 instances of CM101 (Computer Music) - has a Kraftwerk/Camel (Remote Romance) feel - took 6 hours - completed The Hatrix - slightly darker, softer track using 9 instances of Dominator - took 6 hours - decided on title for CD - Furred

2009/12 Completed Ha - faster-paced IDM - a slight Infected Mushroom vibe maybe - took 12 hours - completed Omen - very dark and slow - a sort of cross between mid-70s TD and some of the King Crimson live improvs - took 10 hours - Hobgoblin used to have a Mellotron back in 1980 - it was nice to recreate the sounds without having to carry the thing around - completed Breath - 70s/80s Prog - maybe Camel or TD echoes here - took 12 hours - installed Ohmforce SymptOhmPE_vst2win

2010/04 Completed Field of Dreams - 80s TD style - took 10 hours - completed Terraform - upbeat electroProg - took 10 hours - completed Dyslexia - electroProg again - took 10 hours - completed Offsets - 80s T. Dream/IDM mixture - took 9 hours - completed Stand Still I Say - rock-feel with odd mix of sounds - took 8 hours - Installed Pod Farm 2
